Testimonials

  • Babson basketball camp is the highlight of our son's summer. He's attended every year since kindergarten, and it takes precedence over all other camps. Honestly, it feels like we schedule everything else, even family vacations, around this camp!

    Parent

  • My son comes home with a big smile on his face every day.

    Parent

  • Babson camp has the best cafeteria in the world!

    9-year-old camper

  • In his town basketball game last week, my 10-year-old son set a screen, then on the next possession drove to the basket and scored a lay-up. A friend whose son was on the opposing team looked at me in shock and asked if he had been doing any skills training. Babson basketball camp!

Philosophy

The goal of Coach B Basketball Camp is to improve the level of play of each camper, regardless of their skill level, by providing a rewarding and fun camp experience. We place a particular emphasis on learning the fundamentals, active engagement in drills and competitions, and learning how to be a good teammate. A low camper-to-counselor ratio ensures that participants have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The morning session focuses on individual and team instruction in fundamentals. Campers practice in smaller learning groups or game situations. The afternoon session begins with either a mini-lecture or competition addressing a particular skill, such as shooting, individual defense, or a team concept. We focus on these fundamentals to reinforce the skill development of each camper and to raise the level of each player’s game. After lunch in Trim Dining Hall, campers have the opportunity to free-shoot and transition back to basketball at their own speed. Following free shoot campers will be introduced to new skills, and we utilize drill stations to expose and practice the new skills. Campers will have additional scrimmage opportunities in the afternoon, interspersed with “knockout” or dribble tag games to keep the fun alive.
